Gnomblin evolution according to console and its limitations.
For Gameboy Color, the limitation, of canvas/tiles, is 16x16, although several 16x16 tiles can be combined, but this requires more storage space and is often avoided (depending on the game). Only 4 colors here, including transparency.
On the GBA, there are less limitations, as there are several tile sizes possible for a given game, and they can be combined and better stacked. However, I chose to make my monster on a 32x32 tile (the more common). 16 colors max, including transparency.
For the 2D animation remake, I drew inspiration from 2D remakes such as Wonderoy or Street of rage.
Some palette variations according to the gnomblin's environment (/video workshop). You'll also notice that the gnomblins come in many colors, but they're all the same species.
